UP College of Dentistry Review Practical Phase

The CD review for the practical phase of the Board Exams will be be for three (3) days which will include:
1. Inputs on:
       - pertinent procedures (brief lect.)
       - review of the entire procedures
       - time management techniques
         & tips, advises, etc.
2. Hands on performance on patients
       with optimum guidance,
       supervision, for purposes of
       cognizance of individual pace.
3. Simulated performance
      Mock exam

Part 2: RPD
RPD review will be 1 day which will include:
1. Inputs on basic denture design &
       design principles
2. Drawing tutoring, tips, techniques,
       demontrations, etc.
3. Wax pattern making, performance,
       critiqueing, tips, etc.

The restorative dentistry and FPD sessions will begin with brief instructional presentation that gives an overview of the exercises, a discussion of the materials, instruments and step by step procedures that need to be followed, and the rules and regulations set by the PRC for practical examination. The facilitators will also share their own personal tips and experiences for this part of the board exam. After the instructional lecture, the reviewees will be asked to perform the restorative and FPD exercises for two hours each to simulate the board exam. The facilitators will be giving one-on-one feedback and assessment during and after the exercises. Demonstration of exercises will also be done when deemed necessary or when requested by the reviewees. A summary of good practices and common errors and how to prevent or correct them will be discussed at the end of the session.
